Phoenix Plumbing & Gasfitting (ABN 51 675 350 919) is a licensed plumbing and gasfitting business based in Cannonvale QLD 4802, servicing Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Proserpine, Shute Harbour and the wider Whitsundays. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it and how you can contact us about it. We aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What information we collect
We only collect information we need to quote, book and complete your job. This may include:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the address where the work is to be done, and billing details for invoicing
- details and photos of the job you send us
- records of the work we carry out, including compliance certificates and notices we are required to lodge for plumbing, drainage and gas work
- messages you send us by phone, text message, email, our website forms or social media
We do not ask for, or keep, sensitive information such as health details.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you call or text us, email us, fill in a form on our website, message us on Facebook or speak with us on site. If a property manager, real estate agent, builder or another trade books work on your behalf, we may receive your details from them.
Our website also collects some general information automatically, such as the pages you visit, your browser type and roughly where you are browsing from. This is collected through cookies and Google Analytics and does not tell us who you are.
Why we use it
- to respond to your enquiry and give you a quote
- to book, carry out and invoice your job
- to issue warranties, compliance certificates and other documents, and to meet our licensing obligations with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC)
- to follow up on our work, including occasionally asking if you would like to leave a review
- to improve our website and services
We will not sell your personal information, and we will not send you marketing you have not asked for.
Who we share it with
We only share your information when it is needed to do the job or when the law requires it. This may include:
- our job management and quoting software (our website enquiry form is provided by Fergus), and our accounting and email providers
- suppliers and manufacturers, for example to register a hot water system warranty
- government bodies and regulators such as the QBCC and Whitsunday Regional Council, where plumbing, drainage or gas work must be notified or certified
- the property owner, agent or builder who engaged us for the work at that property
Some of these service providers may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens we use reputable providers who are expected to protect your information.
Cookies and website tools
Our website uses cookies to make it work properly and to understand how visitors use it. We use Google Analytics to see things like which pages are popular. Our pages also include embedded Google Maps and links to Facebook, which may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work.
How we keep it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Job records are stored in password-protected systems and only used by people who need them to do the work. We keep records for as long as we need them for the job, warranties and our legal and tax obligations, then delete or destroy them securely.
